Oregon Analyst Heads to the NFL

Dan Lanning has built out the coaching staff at Oregon in his single year so far. It’s easily the deepest list of coaches ever assembled in Eugene.
In his lone year at Oregon, Lanning has seen a pretty significant amount of turnover. However all of his former staff members have ultimately left for promotions in the coaching world.
On Tuesday, another off-field analyst made a move of his own. Offensive analyst Jordan Somerville will head to a new job with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFL. Somerville will reportedly work with the quarterbacks for the Bucs.

ESPN’s Pete Thamel was first to report the move on Tuesday.
Somerville worked closely with former Oregon OC Kenny Dillingham last season. He was a key piece with the quarterback group at Oregon this past season.
Additionally Somerville is credited with working closely with several staff members on recruits from the state of Arizona. His close ties to the state helped the Ducks sign three recruits from Arizona in 2023. He was also linked to several of Oregon’s top 2024 targets including Elijah Rushing and Luke Moga among others.
