Louisiana Tech (5-3, 3-2) enters the final stretch of the 2025 regular season with three of its last four games on the road. The first of those road matchups kicks off this Saturday as the Bulldogs travel to face Delaware (4-4, 2-3).

Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. CT and will be broadcast live on ESPN+ and KXKZ 107.5 FM.

Matchup at a Glance

Louisiana Tech returned to the win column in emphatic fashion Friday night, rolling past Sam Houston with a 55-14 victory.

The Bulldogs were unstoppable on offense, piling up 646 total yards — including 425 on the ground, the third-highest rushing total in program history.

Clay Thevenin and Omiri Wiggins powered the ground attack, combining for 279 yards and four rushing touchdowns.

On the defensive side, Jacob Fields led the team with seven tackles and capped off the night with a fourth-quarter pick-six — Tech’s sixth defensive touchdown of the season.

Delaware fell to Liberty on Saturday afternoon, 59-30, marking its third loss in the last four games.

Quarterback Nick Minicucci continued his impressive play, throwing for 344 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. One of the league’s top signal-callers, Minicucci has totaled more than 2,500 yards of offense this season while accounting for 23 touchdowns against just four interceptions.

Defensively, the Blue Hens endured one of their toughest outings of the year, surrendering 561 total yards and 59 points to the Flames.

Week Nine X-Factors: Two Questions that Matter

Can the Bulldog offense keep the momentum rolling with another strong showing?

We’ve said it all season — Louisiana Tech’s offense has shown flashes of greatness throughout 2025, but consistency has been the missing piece.

After erupting for 55 points and 646 total yards against Sam Houston, the Bulldogs will look to carry that momentum on the road this week and secure bowl eligibility with another strong performance.

Liberty’s unique scheme presented challenges for Delaware, but it also exposed opportunities. The Blue Hens’ defense can be scored on — now it’s Tech’s turn to prove it on Saturday afternoon.

With three of their final four games on the road, can the Bulldogs open the stretch with a statement win away from home?

Louisiana Tech is 3-20 on the road under Sonny Cumbie, with two of those three victories coming against UTEP.

Meanwhile, Delaware has been dominant at home, winning 21 of its last 25 games in Newark.

The numbers may not favor the Bulldogs, but there’s no better time to rewrite the narrative than Saturday afternoon.
