BC representatives announced for ACC Kickoff
The ACC unveiled the athletes that will be representing each school at the ACC Media Kickoff across three days starting July 22.
BC will be going on day three July 24th and joining Bill O’Brien will be Logan Taylor, Lewis Bond, Daveon ‘Bam’ Crouch and KP Price.
Ordinarily, the decision on who goes really isn’t big news, but given how things have played out the last two years with two guys in particular that attended ACC the ACC Media Kickoff, it feels like this honor is turning into something akin to the ‘Madden Curse.’
Of course two years ago, Emmett Morehead was one of the players that joined head coach Jeff Hafley. Roughly four weeks later, he played one series and was promptly benched for Thomas Castellanos. Now, Morehead is out at Minnesota.
Then, of course it was Castellanos as part of the group last season and well, we all know how things played out. The good news is that this year’s representatives all feel like legitimate ‘BC guys’ and they won’t fall under the same category as Morehead and Castellanos.
These choices could also be a glimpse into what the captaincy situation looks like in Chestnut Hill this year. Usually, the players vote for team captains, but the guys O’Brien and the staff have selected all have their own leadership qualities.
Logan Taylor might be the next first or second round draft pick from the O-line if he stays healthy and has a big year. In just two short years, he’s gone from transfer to leader of that room.
Price and Crouch are probably going to be the two most physical players the Eagles have on defense this year and could be tone setters on the field and in the locker room.
As for Bond, he’s more of the quiet type, but he sure does let his play do the talking. The receivers have been hurt at times by all the up-and-down play at the QB position, but with just one year remaining and the NFL Draft in his sights, it wouldn’t be shocking to see Bond take more of a vocal role this season too.
