Crouch & Price talk 2025 expectations

After the Lewis Bond interview on ACC Network Thursday afternoon, Bam Crouch and KP Price also had about a five-minute interview. Like Bond, both provided some great insight into what the team’s approach is heading into camp.
Here’s what two of the key pieces of the defensive puzzle had to say:
Crouch on his nickname ‘Bam’
“I’d say it started the day I was born, April 3rd, 2004 and it’s lasted to this day. It’s a name that my mom gave me. I explained the story (in the press conference this morning) so, if you watch that, you’ll know where it came from.”
Price on if the team has more confidence heading into this season than last year
“Yes sir. 100%. That confidence (O’Brien) instills in us each and every day…in the meeting room, throughout practices, coaching points he gives us. It all plays a role and it will play a role in who we become. Just leaning on it into the season, we ready. We ready.”
Crouch on how much the last two years have helped him gain experience
“It built my confidence for real. Playing all 13 games (in 2024) and playing well, just showed me that I can do this at this league and this level. So, I’m just ready to keep taking my talent, keep doing it, keep getting better and better at my craft. Being there for my teammates, making sure we’re all getting better so we can just be successful.”
Price on knowing secondary coach Cory Robinson since high school
“Man, it’s great. Coach C-Rob, just the knowledge he gives us, the experience he has behind that. We trust him, we believe in him. Me personally, (knowing) him actually goes back to middle school. He’s just been coaching me for a minute. I know his coaching style and and the guys in the room, we adapted to the points that he gives us. The knowledge, the ball that he knows, he’s just been around. He helps us play fast, instinctively, just…we love him. We love him.”
Crouch on picking Bill O’Brien’s mind
“I just sit with him and talk about ball. He opened my brain up a lot to a lot of football I didn’t know. It brought more talent to my game and to our team game because now as a team, we know more ball. We know how to approach it the pro way that he taught us.”
Price on the expectations for the secondary
“Our expectation is to win, no matter what. Do whatever it takes to win. We want to be the best. We striving to be the best and the work that me and my brothers’ put in…man, we just…there’s no way that it’s not gonna pay off. There’s no way that it won’t pay off just as long as we keep approaching every day with a great mindset, with our best foot forward, just continuing to get 1% better every single day.”
Crouch on which superpower he’d choose if he could
“Teleportation so I wouldn’t have to walk, drive nowhere. I could just be here in one minute, be in Jupiter, or Turks & Caicos, somewhere. I could do that easily with teleportation.”
Price on which athlete he’d have dinner with if he could, past or present
“I’d go Coach Prime, Deion Sanders. That’s my favorite player. Pick his brain, see what he knows. A lot. You know? Just, Coach Prime. That’s my answer.”
