Wisconsin OL Beckett Schreiber flips commitment to Minnesota
P.J. Fleck and the Minnesota Golden Gophers’ big day on the recruiting trail continued on Monday night as the Golden Gophers picked up a commitment from Memorial (WI) offensive tackle Beckett Schreiber. He was previously committed to Washington State.
The 6-foot-5, 285-pound Schreiber committed to the Golden Gophers a little over a month after taking an official visit to the Twin Cities for the Gophers’ home matchup on September 27 against Rutgers. The Indiana Hoosiers, the currently No. 2-ranked team in the country, also were hoping to flip Schreiber in recent weeks, both offering and hosting the offensive lineman on an official visit.
Schreiber is the third commitment of Monday evening for the Gophers, joining Missouri wide receiver Braiden Stevens and Texas running back Jett Walker.
Stevens, a former South Dakota State commitment, chose the Gophers over offers from James Madison and West Virginia, while Walker flipped his previous commitment from West Virginia to the Golden Gophers.
Overall, Schreiber is commitment No. 27 for Minnesota in the 2026 recruiting cycle and their fourth offensive lineman joining in-state four-star Andrew Trout, Wisconsin three-star Gavin Meier, and Ohio three-star Lucas Tielsch. The Gophers previously this cycle lost commitments from Norman North (OK) standout Daniel McMorris and Lehi (UT) prospect Mataalii Benjamin.
With his commitment, the Gophers also now have more prospects from Wisconsin committed to the program than any other state. Joining Schreiber and Meier as future Gophers are St. Catherine safety Lamont Hamilton and Ellsworth tight end George Rohl.
