The Winter Garden, Florida native originally committed to Louisville on July 11th over a final list of schools featuring Auburn, Maryland, Miami, Rutgers, UCF, and the Cardinals. However it was more of a top three list featuring Louisville, Maryland, and Rutgers in the end. Despite that commitment to the Cardinals, Rutgers and more specifically assistant coach Damiere Shaw never stopped pushing for Anderson and today that paid off, as they earned his commitment.

“I spoke the most with the head coach (Greg) Schiano, coach (Damiere) Shaw, and coach (David) Rowe,” said Anderson. “The message from them was that I’m a Big Ten player and nothing else. They told me that I need to play at the highest level and against the best competition. Also they said I will become a key part of the Rutgers defense.”

At West Orange High School in Florida, Anderson played both side of the ball, specifically wide receiver and cornerback. As a senior this past season, he ran the ball twice for 39 yards, hauled in nine receptions for 162 yards and two scores on offense. He also had 40 total tackles (30 solo), 2.5 tackles for loss, 0.5 sack, 17 PBUs, four interceptions (1 returned for a TD) and one fumble recovery, which he took 35 yards for another score. Add in the fact that they use his speed on kickoffs, where he returned five kicks for 118 yards.

As it stands, Rutgers currently has boasts a top 35 ranked 2026 recruiting class in the nation per the Rivals Industry rankings, and it is No. 11 overall in the Big Ten. Along with Anderson, the Scarlet Knights. have a few other Florida recruits this cycle in Conyers who was mentioned above, defensive lineman Reece Beck and safety Sebastian Cruz.
