Patmon delivers again, Oregon beats Liberty in extras

Dezianna Patmon’s big blast got Oregon to the Super Regionals. Her swing now has the Ducks one win away from the Women’s College World Series. Oregon beat Liberty 3-2 in extra innings to open the Eugene Super Regional on Patmon’s walk-off single in the eighth.
Kedre Luschar led off the eighth with a single. She got to third after a steal and a sacrifice fly before scoring the game-winning run.
Both teams threatened in the first without a run, but one was a lot more controversial than the other. Rachel Roupe was tagged out at home on a first-and-third play to end the threat. On the flip side, Oregon appeared to score the first run on a squeeze play. However, after replay review, Kai Luschar did a small hop and was determined to leave early, leading to an out. Paige Snicki then smashed a ball that Liberty left fielder Paige Doerr leaped and snagged at the wall.
After a Liberty error in the third, Luschar roped a ball into the gap for an RBI triple. Stefini Ma’ake lined a two-out RBI single to left to double the lead to two.

KK Madrey singled in the fourth and scored from first base on a double from Doerr to cut the lead in half. Doerr singled to lead off the sixth and moved over to second on a sacrifice bunt. Alexia Carrasquillo tied the game with another pinch-hit RBI to score Doerr.
Oregon used the combination of Lyndsey Grein, Elise Sokolsky and Staci Chambers once again. Chambers shined again, throwing 2.1 scoreless innings to close out the game. Liberty had its chances early, going 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position.
The Ducks will try to clinch the spot in Oklahoma City at 7 p.m. ET on Satuday.
