Hawkeyes talk defensive improvement in second half
It wasn’t the type of half that Iowa fans were expecting from the Hawkeyes in the first half. Western Illinois shot over 50% from the floor and were down by eight points at the break. Iowa came out in the second twenty minutes of action and put an emphasis on defense on their way to a comfortable 77-58 victory.
Following the victory over the Leathernecks, Alvaro Folgueiras, who scored 13 points and started the second half of action, and Isaia Howard, who finished with 8 points and 4 assists in the game, spoke to the media about the second half defense and the win on Friday evening.
