Reading the Tea Leaves from Oregon's Media Availability

So far Dan Lanning has chosen a wide array of players to talk Fall camp. And this doesn’t seem like much but it’s kind of his way of saying something without saying something. Here’s what I mean.
Typically Lanning has shied away from putting freshmen in front of media. And I understand why. It’s probably wise to let them mature and see how its done from the veterans before being put in front of a pretty big audience. In a world that feasts on sound bites, protecting them from themselves isn’t a bad thing.
As we know Fall camp has been closed every day. Which means we just have a limited amount of intel to go on.

Lanning has put most of his coaches up there at one point. But that’s not nearly as important. Why would we track this? Well I think there is some value there just reading the tea leaves. At this point in the season I don’t think Lanning will put up many, if any deep backups. Maybe during the season for some filler. But not ahead of the season.
With a number of position battles continuing, I think there are at least a couple hints, or confirmation of guys we expect to be big contributors this season.
Let’s just take a look at the names that have met with media so far this Fall.
