This connection was part of the leak play that Inside Texas’ Joe Cook wrote about earlier this week.

“Texas used Leak regularly in 2024. And during the Longhorns’ run to the College Football Playoff semifinal, it worked nearly every single time.

The most prominent example of its success was in the Peach Bowl versus Arizona State. Immediately after 4th and 13 heroics from Ewers and Matthew Golden in overtime, Ewers again found Helm for what would turn out to be the game-winning touchdown.”
