Five-star pitcher Vivian Knott commits to Stanford
Vivian Knott will be earning her frequent flyer miles. The five-star pitcher from Connecticut announced her commitment to Stanford on Wednesday.
“I chose Stanford for the opportunity to get a world-class education, play softball at the highest level, and learn from such amazing coaches. I have been on incredible visits and met truly amazing people, but as soon as I stepped on campus at Stanford, I knew that I was home. The environment is truly amazing and I am so excited to continue my academic and athletic journey in such an incredible place.”

Knott, who is Softball America’s seventh-ranked overall recruit in the 2027 class and top-ranked left-handed pitcher, also took visits to Oklahoma, UCLA and Northwestern. The Empire State Huskies star possesses the ability to use her lethal combination of velocity, location, and change of speed to carve up an opposing lineup. She can create swings and misses all over the zone, making it difficult to prepare for her. She is cerebral in her approach on the mound, has the stamina to go the distance, and can change her game plan each time through the order.
The addition of Knott boosts Stanford’s class higher up the team rankings, joining the Top-10, as the Cardinal already had a verbal from the 15th-overall recruit Ivy Burnham.
