Huskies are clearly the best team in the country. Azzi Fudd knocks down a three-pointer. It’s an 11-4 run to make 76-48 UConn. Timeout Iowa.

Huskies made five three-pointers that quarter, including a pair by Azzi Fudd. She’s up to 14 points for the game. Iowa has committed 22 turnovers that have turned into 34 points for the Huskies.

Taylor Stremlow is 3-of-5 from three-point range, but the Huskies are 4-of-8 from behind the arc this quarter. It’s now a 32-5 advantage for UConn in points off turnovers.

UConn with three made threes in the first three minutes of the half. Sarah Strong knocks one down. She’s got 23 points. UConn up 51-33.

Iowa has turned it over 15 times to just four turnovers for UConn. The Huskies are outscoring Iowa 21-5 in points off turnovers.

UConn has forced 70 turnovers in four games against AP Top 25 teams (17.5 per game). Obviously 15 in a half is far too many, but Ohio State turned it over 25 times and USC turned it over 20 times.

The biggest correction for the second half is just limiting those mistakes. It’s 29-26 Iowa in non-off turnover points.

She continues to shoot it pretty well. Missed her first look, but has hit a couple to cut the deficit to 39-29.

Hawkeyes have committed ten turnovers to just two turnovers for UConn. That has turned into a 16-2 advantage in points off turnovers for the Huskies.

She’s got a couple of fouls. Layla Hays has provided some strong minutes early. UConn leads 30-20 after a Sarah Strong three-pointer.

Off of a second chance opportunity. Iowa has cut the deficit to 24-18 with under 7:30 remaining in the first half.

UConn with a 9-0 run, but Iowa goes 4-0 in the final minute of the quarter.

I’d assume we are looking at about a 35-40 minute break before the Hawkeyes and Huskies tip off. Starting lineups should be out soon.

#11 Iowa vs #1 UConn is the second half of the Shark Beauty Women’s Champions Classic. The first game of the doubleheader, #16 Louisville vs #17 Tennessee is in progress on FOX.

The Hawkeyes enter as a 25.5-point underdog (per BetMGM), which is believed to be their largest underdog point spread since the ’19 Elite Eight against the eventual national champion Baylor Bears.
