Historic 2-0 Start Plus Fife’s Top Weapons

New Mexico State beat Bryant 19-3 in their opener and earned a comeback victory over Tulsa to start the year 2-0 for the first time since 2014. With a victory over the Bulldogs, the Aggies would be start the season 3-0 the first time this century.

The head and shoulders #1 target for the Aggies in 2024 has been 6’1 wide receiver Donovan Faupel. The junior outside receiver is in his third year in the program and leads the team with 13 receptions for 177 yards and 1 touchdown. Faupel is the only Aggie with double digit receptions or receiving yards, but TE Gavin Harris and slot receiver TJ Pride could see an uptick in targets this week against the Bulldogs.

Against Tulsa in Week 2, Fife completed 27 of 44 passes for 248 yards and 2 touchdowns, while accounting for 34 of the Aggies’ 45 rushing yards.
