Former Cal slugger Elon Butler signs with Oregon

Former California slugger, Elon Butler, has announced her intentions to transfer to Oregon. Butler will be bringing with her a wealth of experience and power with her 37 career home runs.
This season, Butler hit .361 and led the team with walks at 38 and stolen bases with 16. Additionally, she was third on the team in slugging percentage (.602), hits (60), home runs (10), and total bases (100). Her power numbers were slightly down this season due to teams pitching around her with greater frequency than in the past.
In 2023, Butler was named third Team All-Pac-12 and to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team. Increasing her productivity, Butler had 17 home runs and 44 RBIs in 2024 and was a NFCA Second Team All-American as well as all Pac-12 Second Team.
Butler has all the tools to be a big offensive contributor with her ability to hit with power, along with her speed on the basepaths. She has the ability to play in the infield or outfield, with Oregon needing to replace their whole outfield that might be the better spot for Butler.
