Inside WOW Factor: Softball America Scouts Rising Talent
Softball America continues its coverage of the youth and travel ball circuit as eyes were on the road this weekend, scouting a new organization based in the Southeast. Softball America was called on to scout an entire organizational workout at the Lake Point complex in Emerson, GA.
WOW Factor has a large presence in the baseball scene and is expanding its reach nationally in softball, focusing on youth skill development. The group ranged in age from 2027 grads to the 2033 class. The workout was spent isolating skills with an emphasis on introduction to motor preferences by 108 Performance’s Nate Headley on offense and allowing each hitter to explore their strengths in the box. Defensively, the session was highlighted by position-specific drills that rolled into team defensive sets, with fundamentals instruction from Florida signee Nina Carcone.

Several young athletes stood out, including rising young star Erin Broussard (2030) from
Atascocita, TX. This two-way lefty/lefty also competes in volleyball and track while excelling in the classroom.
On the mound, she has all the tools to mix pitches and has nice downspin on her curve. Coupled with her off-speed and the unique look from the left side, this could prove challenging for opposing hitters. Offensively, she has more power to her pull side right now and can run like a deer. The future is bright for this young athlete.
Additionally, left-handed power hitter Sophia Luarca (2029), who is from Brea Olinda High School in California, had a good day. She showcased her power at the plate and strength on defense. She has a strong presence in the box and does a nice job of elevating pitches to all fields.
Chloe Barrett (2030) is another strong two-way player who has already been identified as a top performer in the USA Softball HPP U-13 program. She is able to get inside the ball well and land her barrel in multiple spots in the zone. On the mound, she has a nice mix of a curve, changeup, and true off-speed that enables her to throw at three speeds, making it challenging for hitters.

Abby McCann (2028) from Esperanza High School is another strong corner for this squad with power to the pull side. The ball simply jumped off her bat as she has the ability to generate bat speed and exit velocity at the plate.
As the organization continues to grow and expand its outreach, several young athletes will be intriguing to watch as they develop. For information on having your organization scouted, contact us at [email protected]
