One of the high-profile transfers Florida State brought in just one year ago is already on the move to a new school.

Defensive end Jayson Jenkins, who came to the Seminoles after beginning his career at Tennessee, plans to enter the transfer portal when it opens on Jan. 2.

The 6-foot-6, 276-pound Jenkins was expected to be a force on the Florida State defensive line this past season, and he did end up starting five of the Seminoles’ 12 games he played in. But he recorded just 16 tackles with 1.5 tackles for loss and one sack as a redshirt junior.

The Tennessee transfer’s tenure at Florida State got off to a rough start when he was sidelined for the spring and much of the summer due to an Achilles’ injury.

The NCAA transfer portal officially opens on Jan. 2 this cycle, and it will remain open for 15 days.

Several Florida State players have announced their plans to enter the transfer portal in recent days. Here is an updated list of those decisions.
