Louisiana Tech Lands Commitment from JUCO Forward Trashaun Combs-Pierce
Louisiana Tech received a boost to its frontcourt on Wednesday as Trashaun Combs-Pierce announced his commitment to the Bulldogs.
Combs-Pierce, a 6-foot-8 forward from Independence Community College, will join Louisiana Tech with two years of eligibility remaining.
When asked why he chose the Bulldogs, Combs-Pierce told BleedTechBlue.com, “I chose LA Tech because it felt like home for me. They’ve been genuine throughout the entire process — from what I need to do to improve, to how they plan to help me next year. Coach Hester is a great guy, and I feel like he can really help me grow as a basketball player.”
As a freshman at Independence CC, Combs-Pierce averaged 11.6 points and 7.8 rebounds in 25.6 minutes per game while shooting 36 percent from three-point range.
Basketball runs in the family — Trashaun’s mother, Tashia, suited up for the Lady Techsters in the early 2000s under former head coach Kurt Budke.
