Arkansas baseball 2025 MLB Draft final results

The Arkansas Razorbacks baseball team capped a historic two days in the 2025 MLB Draft that concluded Monday after 20 rounds.
Right-handed pitcher Gage Wood went 26th overall to the Philadelphia Phillies and the Hogs followed with a program-record four first round selections, plus they tied the record for most overall selections (11) in one draft.
Besides the Razorbacks who were expected to be selected, such as Wood, Wehiwa Aloy, Zach Root, Charles Davalan and Landon Beidelschies, Arkansas lost some valuable pieces to its pitching staff like Christian Foutch, Aiden Jimenez and Parker Coil. Those three will almost certainly sign deals as juniors, as they’d have no leverage next year.
Arkansas also lost shortstop transfer commit Dylan Grego in the 13th round, and though he may decide to go to school, the Razorbacks got some much-needed insurance when top high school signee and shortstop Landon Schaefer announced he’d play in college next season. Fellow high school pitching signee Jordan Martin will also take the mound for Arkansas in 2026, per reports.
Center fielder Justin Thomas Jr. and third baseman Brent Iredale were also picked by pro clubs. Though that news isn’t great, Arkansas did make it through the draft without its other transfer center field commit, Maika Niu, hearing his name called.
Below is a recap of each pick.

SUNDAY (ROUNDS 1-3)
Drafted Players:
RHP Gage Wood – Round 1, Pick 26 to Philadelphia Phillies
Approximate pick value: $3,492,200
Wood rocketed up the draft boards following his no-hitter performance against Murray State in this year’s College World Series, but he’s been tough all season for batters because of a deadly upper 90s fastball paired with a power curveball that has serious potential.
2025 stats: 3.82 ERA, 10 GS, 37.2 IP, 69 K, 7 BB, 27 H, 16 ER
SS Wehiwa Aloy – Round 1, Pick 31 to Baltimore Orioles
Approximate pick value: $3,042,800
The 2025 Golden Spikes Award Winner, Aloy fulfilled this season the potential that Arkansas’ coaching staff saw in him as a freshman at Sacramento State. The Hawaiian hit .350 with 21 homers, 19 doubles and 68 RBIs and consistently made jaw-dropping plays at shortstop as a Hog. Continuing to work on the swing-and-miss in his bat is a must, but all the tools are there to have a productive big-league career.
2025 stats: 311 PA, .350/.434/.673, 93 H, 19 2B, 2 3B, 21 HR, 68 RBI, 32 BB, 64 K
LHP Zach Root – Round 1, Pick 40 to Los Angeles Dodgers
Approximate pick value: $2,443,600
Root was heralded as one of the top pitchers in the transfer portal last offseason and lived up to the hype, as he claimed the Arkansas baseball team’s ace role and finished First-Team All-SEC with a solid regular season. The southpaw saw his velo climb up to 99 MPH in the NCAA Tournament and across four starts, he totaled 19.2 IP with 20 strikeouts, seven walks, nine hits allowed and just five earned runs.
2025 stats: 3.62 ERA, 19 GS, 99.1 IP, 126 K, 35 BB, 82 H, 40 ER
OF Charles Davalan – Round 1, Pick 41 to Los Angeles Dodgers
Approximate pick value: $2,386,900
Nicknamed “Chuck”, Davalan was a powerful leadoff man that at one point in the season had nearly as many long balls (12) as strikeouts (13). Though that impressive ratio didn’t quite hold, he still maintained a keen eye at the plate and was formidable for opposing pitchers, as he hit .346 with 28 extra-base hits. The draft-eligible sophomore still has areas where he can improve, particularly defensively, but the offensive approach is there to make an instant-impact as he works his way up the minors.
2025 stats: 317 PA, .346/.433/.561, 93 H, 12 2B, 2 3B, 14 HR, 60 RBI, 35 BB, 27 K
MONDAY (ROUNDS 4-20)
Drafted Players:
RHP Christian Foutch – Round 5, Pick 148 to Boston Red Sox
Approximate pick value: $479,800
RHP Aiden Jimenez – Round 5, Pick 158 to Kansas City Royals
Approximate pick value: $434,400
LHP Landon Beidelschies – Round 6, Pick 187 to Atlanta Braves
Approximate pick value: $338,900
Beidelschies was another one of Arkansas’ top portal pickups, but the former Ohio State ace didn’t quite have the same trajectory as Root. His propensity to give up the long ball held him back, but he was still a valuable piece to the pitching staff with 70 strikeouts and 20 walks. That includes an impressive showing against LSU in the College World Series, in which he struck out nine Tigers with one walk and two earned runs.
3B Brent Iredale – Round 7, Pick 203 to Pittsburgh Pirates
Approximate pick value: $297,400
RHP Ben Bybee – Round 8, Pick 236 to San Francisco Giants
Approximate pick value: $232,000
OF Justin Thomas Jr. – Round 11, Pick 336 to Houston Astros
Approximate pick value: $150,000
LHP Parker Coil – Round 16, Pick 485 to Milwaukee Brewers
Approximate pick value: $150,000
