Georgia Tech head coach Brent Key opened his Thursday press conference with an injury report update ahead of his team’s ACC road trip to Duke on Saturday as he confirmed that the Jackets will be without defensive standouts Ahmari Harvey and Akelo Stone, among other injury news.

The redshirt-senior cornerback Harvey suffered a lower-body injury late in last Saturday’s 35-20 win over Virginia Tech while the redshirt-senior defensive lineman Stone was injured during Tech’s 30-29 overtime win at Wake Forest on Sept. 27. Both are listed as starters or co-starters on the Jackets’ depth chart. Key did say that Harvey got “good news” on his injury as it is not expected to cost him the rest of the season but no timetable for his return is known right now.

Key also said that redshirt-junior safety Savion Riley, junior running back Chad Alexander and redshirt-sophomore linebacker and special teamer Myles Forristall will also still be out with injuries for the matchup at Duke. Riley hasn’t played since the opening game of the season at Colorado when he suffered an upper-body injury, Alexander has been out of action since an injury late in the spring and Forristall was injured during the game at Wake Forest.

All of the players mentioned above are expected to be back at some point this season according to Key.

Georgia Tech is already without redshirt-senior long snapper Will Benton IV for the remainder of the season due to a knee injury suffered at Wake Forest.

The 6-0 (3-0 ACC) and No. 12-ranked Jackets will tee it up vs. Duke (4-2, 3-0 ACC) on Saturday at noon in Durham, N.C. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
