Texas announces 2026 SEC baseball schedule

The Texas Longhorns will enter the 2026 season as one of the favorites to win the SEC. The group in year two under Jim Schlossnagle will be very talented. Let’s look at the conference road ahead.

March 13-15 vs Ole Miss
Ole Miss was a pretty darn good team and unfortunately got paired against an extremely hot Murray State team in the NCAA Tournament. They weren’t near the top of the SEC standings, but they are certainly a team that will challenge Texas in week one of conference play.
March 20-22 @ Auburn
Auburn was another team who lost in the regional round, again to a team that made it to Omaha. Auburn has a fantastic baseball fan base and Plainsman Park will be a great experience for those who travel with the team. While it isn’t like walking into Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge, it will be a nice weekend series to get the boys into the mindset of playing on the road.
March 27-29 vs Oklahoma
Skip Johnson had his Sooners playing some dangerous chaotic baseball, and while he lost Kyson Witherspoon they should have some good pitching again. Johnson is incredibly familiar with the environment at the Disch and the Sooners will be looking for revenge.
April 2-4 @ South Carolina
Paul Mainieri has not really brought his magic to the Gamecocks, and for a while it was looking like he might not survive year one. South Carolina spent all of last year looking like a joke on the diamond finishing 6-24 in conference. Texas should be favored here.
April 10-12 @ Texas A&M
The Aggies walked into the Disch in 2025 with hopes of building on the last second surge their team needed to make the field of 64. They also wanted to take down the first-place team in the SEC. They failed. The Aggies will be looking for revenge after getting swept and this will be the first game back in College Station for Schlossnagle. This crowd will be ROWDY.
April 17-19 vs Alabama
Much like Ole Miss, Alabama is no joke and also finished 16-14. They will have All-American shortstop Justin Lebron playing at the Disch. He’ll be a very fun player to watch. He may wind up in your favorite team’s organization in about a year.

April 24-26 @ Vanderbilt
Here’s to hoping the Vandy whistler has his wife schedule a wedding during this game or something. Otherwise, RIP to the eardrums of those who travel to watch Texas play in Nashville. Tim Corbin is a really good coach who had his team playing some fine baseball last season. Talent will not be an issue as long as he is coaching there and this will be no cake walk for the Horns.
May 1-3 vs Mississippi State
The Bulldogs are making the trip to Austin and they will be a force to be reckoned with. State made a bold move firing Chris Lemonis last year, who guided MSU to the 2021 national title. They brought in Brian O’Connor from Virginia and backed him with a nice NIL budget. This will be a dangerous team.
May 8-10 @ Tennessee
This should be a great week for the Longhorns’ home run count. Lindsey Nelson Stadium is a tiny ballpark where typical flyouts on the warning track are monster shots. Pitching will be a huge factor here for the Horns in limiting a powerful Tennessee offense. With how these teams have both carried some attitude onto the field, this series could heat up in a hurry.
May 14-16 vs Missouri
This should be a cake walk so long as Texas avoids dropping three straight to the Tigers, just like A&M did last year. Ending the season versus Missouri should be a nice opportunity for the seniors to play their final regular season game at the Disch. It will be a bittersweet series for a few players. Beyond that it will give Texas an opportunity to make any last minute adjustments to the team before heading to Hoover.
Everything considered, it feels like a pretty even schedule with the right level of difficulty.
