Rick Heller talks win over Mississauga, early fall practice thoughts

The Iowa Baseball team opened their three-game fall schedule with a 31-4 win over Mississauga Academy (CAN) on Friday evening at Daune Banks Field. They are set to face Missouri and Heartland CC in their remaining to fall exhibitions.
At the plate, the Hawkeyes put up 31 runs on 32 hits, with several players recording multi-hit nights. Outfielder Kellen Strohmeyer led the way with four hits and three runs scored, while infielder Caleb Wulf added three hits and three runs scored. Two-way player Tyler Guerin reached base four times, including a two-run home run. On the mound, Hawkeye pitchers held the Tigers to four runs on four hits. The true freshman trio, Brody Irlbeck, Carter Wilcox and Nick Terhaar combined to toss 5.0 hitless innings, including eight strikeouts and no walks.
